SAFA congress to take place in Sandton

The long-awaited South African Football Association (SAFA) congress will take place in Sandton, north of Johannesburg, today.

It was postponed in May due to the association’s financial difficulties.

SAFA President Danny Jordaan will once again face a motion to step aside.

Jordaan enjoys huge support from SAFA’s National Executive Committee and the majority of the association’s 52 regions.

The motion is proposed by four regions that seek to have Jordaan temporarily removed due to his ongoing court case.
