Siya Kolisi during the press conference
Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus was forced to make a late change to his 23-man squad for tomorrow’s Qatar Airways Cup match against the Barbarians in Cape Town.
Regular captain Siya Kolisi was forced to withdraw from the team due to an injury.
Marco van Staden has been drafted straight into the starting lineup as a replacement for Kolisi and will join Vincent Tshituka and Jean-Luc du Preez in the loose trio.
Centre Jesse Kriel will captain the team in Kolisi’s absence.
It will be the first time Kriel will lead the Springboks, albeit in an unofficial match.
He made his debut for South Africa in 2015 and has played in 79 tests.
