Angola advance to COSAFA Cup final

Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup defending champions, Angola are through to the finals of this year’s tournament.

The Black Antelopes beat Madagascar 4-1 in Bloemfontein to advance to the final, earlier this afternoon.

Angola are the highest goal scorers in the competition so far with 10 goals in four matches.

Angola becomes only the fourth team in the tournament’s 27- year history to reach back-to-back finals.

Angola started like a house on fire and were awarded a penalty in the opening minutes of the match.

Laurindo Aurelio made no mistake from the spot to put Angola in the lead. The team managed to extend their lead in the 37th minute.

The third goal came in the 74th minute through Ambrosini Salvador, with Alberto Miguel scoring four minutes before regulation time.

Madagascar got a consolation goal in injury time.
