PAC leader Mzwanele Nyhontso
Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) leader, Mzwanele Nyhontso says the issue of foreign nationals in South Africa is not the root cause of the country’s challenges, but rather the growing unemployment crisis.
He was speaking during the party’s Africa Month celebrations in Centane in the Eastern Cape.
Nyhontso argues that the focus should be on addressing joblessness, economic inequality and the systemic issues driving poverty.
Nyhontso says, “It is not about foreign nationals. It is about the country not creating jobs. It is about the economy of the country not growing. So, let’s grow the economy, let’s create jobs. And an African can never be a foreigner in Africa. So, we must talk to our people and these thugs, the criminals who are busy calling people, stopping people on the street asking them (for) papers, that is out of order. The police must take the law. You can’t take the law unto your own selves, otherwise we are going to have a lawlessness state.”
