An eyewitness to the shooting says the latest incident has heightened fear among local businesses and customers in the area. The man is a street vendor.
He says there have been ongoing tensions among some foreign business owners in the area over the past month, with seven people reportedly shot in a series of related incidents.
This claim however, has not been confirmed by police. The man who wants to be known only as Musawenkosi says the repeated violence is driving customers away and disrupting business operations in the CBD.
