EMS confirms tourist’s death at Nelson Mandela capture site in KZN

A 59- year- old tourist from Germany has collapsed and died at the Nelson Mandela capture site in Howick in the midlands of KwaZulu- Natal. The circumstances leading to the incident are not currently known.

Emergency Medical Service (EMS) spokesperson Ian Winterboer confirms that the patient had gone into cardiac arrest.

“Midlands EMS received multiple calls of a patient that had collapsed at the Nelson Mandela capture site, on arrival paramedics noted that bystanders had already begun a CPR process. Paramedics took over the CPR and despite all efforts, the patient was declared deceased on the scene.”
