Pimville discontinued due to identified breaches: SABC

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has announced that the telanova, Pimville, has been discontinued effective from Monday night due to unresolved contractual obligations and breaches identified and communicated formally to Bakwena Productions.

The programme was aired on SABC 2.

The SABC says in a statement that the decision was made following a thorough review process and careful consideration.

The public broadcaster says the outcome is deeply regrettable, particularly considering the dedication and hard work demonstrated by the cast, crew as well as the unwavering support received from audiences and others.

The SABC says the 9 pm slot previously occupied by Pimville will now be playing repeat episodes of the brand new Season 2 of the telenovela Amalanga Awafani.
