Malema pre-sentencing adjourned to Thursday

The firearm case against Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has been adjourned to tomorrow for sentencing.

Malema was found guilty of multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm in a built-up area and reckless endangerment of people or property.

The incident occurred during the EFF’s birthday celebrations at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane in July 2018.

Both the defence and the state submitted their closing arguments.

The state is arguing for a jail sentence, while the defence is asking for a non-custodial sentence.
