Many households in Mahikeng are counting their losses after a hailstorm destroyed parts of their homes.
In some instances, houses were damaged, while in other areas, windows were broken.
The Mahikeng Local Municipality says it has activated its disaster management unit to assess the extent of the damage.
Spokesperson Johny Nkoane elaborates, “We have received reports that people’s properties have been damaged. Our disaster management unit will visit the families to assess the extent of the damage and make a report, which will come to the municipality, and we’ll take it from there. We are heartbroken, and we are very sorry to everyone who has been affected by the hailstorm.”
