Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) President Zingiswa Losi has highlighted job losses and the rising cost of living as primary challenges facing South African workers.
Cosatu is finalising preparations for Friday’s 140th anniversary of International Workers’ Day rally in Polokwane in Limpopo.
Losi has called for the unity of workers in order to defeat the challenges they face.
“I think Cosatu has learned throughout its 40 years of existence that fragmentation is not what is gonna take us to the liberation of workers. We think that to liberate workers, workers must liberate themselves by being united beyond political affiliation. And so the focus that we have for this year is the unity of workers.”
