Bellarmine Mugabe and Tobias Matonhodze appear in the Alexandra Regional Court in Johannesburg on March 24, 2026.
Bellarmine Mugabe, the son of the late former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and co-accused Tobias Matonhodze are expected to be sentenced in the Alexandra Regional Court in Johannesburg on Friday morning.
The two appeared in court last week, where they pleaded guilty to several charges, including attempted murder.
Mugabe pleaded guilty to pointing a firearm and contravening South Africa’s immigration laws.
While Matonhodze pleaded guilty to charges of attempted murder, illegal immigration, possession of ammunition and defeating ends of justice.
The postponement to this week was to give the defence time to find the weapon used in the attempted murder of Sipho Mahlangu.
Mahlangu, who was employed at the Mugabe residence in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, was shot and wounded in February.
The gun that was used is yet to be found.
