ActionSA is also calling for Mkhwanazi’s immediate dismissal from the City of Ekurhuleni, the party’s spokesperson in Ekurhuleni, Tumelo Tshabalala, says they see no reason why he shouldn’t be prosecuted.
“This underscores our standing position of ActionSA that some of these individuals should have been dealt with long ago because these allegations have always been there, way before the Madlanga Commission. We heard in the commission how senior managers prevented investigations from concluding and how reports were concealed and prevented from even reaching the council. So this is a very serious matter, and we are encouraged by the fact that it appears the Madlanga Commission is ensuring that those who were meant to account are held accountable. We see no reason why he shouldn’t be prosecuted and most importantly why he shouldn’t be dismissed.”
