Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala testifying at the at Kgoši Mampuru Correctional Facility in Pretoria.
The Pretoria Magistrate’s Court has ordered that alleged criminal mastermind Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala remain in custody at the Kgosi Mampuru Maximum Security Prison for consultations until the 13th of May.
Matlala is facing charges of fraud and corruption in relation to the R360m police tender that he was awarded in 2024.
He is charged alongside twelve other senior police officers and the director of a company known as Medicare24 Tshwane District.
Matlala was moved to the Ebongweni Super Maximum Correctional facility in Kokstad, KwaZulu-Natal in December, last year.
