Residents of Klipvoor village in the Madibeng Local Municipality, outside Brits in the North West, are appealing to government to fast-track the fixing of roads and bridges in their area.

This, after recent heavy rains in more than 40 wards in the municipality damaged infrastructure.

Schooling has also been disrupted.

Residents have expressed frustration.

“As Klipvoor stadt residents, we really plead with the state to practice a better life for all. We are currently locked within our village with no public transport due to the recent rain,” says one of the residents.

Another resident says, “The bridges and roads are dilapidated and the rivers are overflowing after the recent rain. Kids are not going to school, which might take two to three weeks. No access to health facilities. We need a permanent solution.”
