Six cash-in-transit suspects have been shot and killed in Laudium, west of Pretoria. This is after a shootout with the police on Monday night.
According to police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, unlicensed firearms and ammunition have been recovered at the scene.
A seventh suspect was also severely wounded in the shootout.
Masondo says, “We are very happy … Through intelligence, we managed to intercept them at the place where the vehicle was going to deliver the money. They tried to run away.”
