Nkabane says registration of students will continue at UKZN

Higher Education and Training Minister Dr Nobuhle Nkabane says the registration of students will continue at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

This is despite the circulating statement suggesting that there would not be any registration extension at the institution.

Dr Nkabane says the university’s Vice Chancellor will have to account for the statement. She spoke on the sideline of her visit to the University of Mpumalanga, in Mbombela on Monday.

“What is disturbing me is that I learnt this morning, of the statement that the VC has issues and what I did because we are living in the modern technology age, I sent that statement to the VC and he said the statement was leaked. We haven’t spoken since then because we agreed in that meeting that there must be an extension for a period of a week, I take it as defiance, and disrespect of a woman and I’m going to make sure he accounts,” says Minister of Higher Education and Training Dr Nobuhle Nkabane.
