The Cape Winelands District Municipality says the fire in Banhoek Valley, Stellenbosch, has been contained.
The blaze started burning on Saturday.
Municipality Spokesperson Anesca Roodt says firefighters will remain on the scene to monitor any flare-ups.
Roodt says, “The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Fire Services and their partners confirm that the fire in Banhoek Valley, Stellenbosch, has been contained.”
She says, “There are currently no active fire lines. Firefighting vehicles, crew and ground teams will remain on the scene for monitoring and mopping-up operations until the area is deemed safe. There has been no loss of property.”
