Two female police officers to appear in court on a charge of assault.
The two female officers who are alleged to have assaulted a 40-year old woman are expected to appear court in the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The officers allegedly assaulted the woman at the Heidedal Police Station two weeks ago. The assault was captured on video footage that was leaked to SABC News.

In the video, the Constable and Sergeant are seen slapping Steffnie Booysen outside the station as well as inside before taking her to the back while holding her by the neck. Booysen sustained injuries on her body as a result.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate confirmed that they were arrested on Thursday.

Free State | Woman files assault charge against officers
(1/2) Two female police officers accused of assaulting a 40-year-old woman at Heidedal Police Station in Bloemfontein on 9 January 2025, were arrested by IPID on allegations of assault. The two officers will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court on 7 February.
