AKA, Tibz murder case transferred to Durban High Court

The case of the five suspects charged with the murder of rapper, Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and his friend Tebello Tibz Motsoane, has been transferred to the Durban High Court, to be heard on 8 May.

The court has heard that the state is ready to commence with trial.

The suspects, who are in custody, appeared briefly before the Durban Magistrates’ Court.

They face multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of murder and the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, among others.

Forbes and Motsoane were gunned down in an alleged hit outside a Durban restaurant in 2023.

“You will be facing the charges it’s outlined in the indictments which your attorney I have discussed with you. At the glance I can see that there are one up to 11 accounts so that you are going to be facing. You are to remain in custody until then,” says Magistrate Vincent Hlatshwayo.
