Swarts says this nationwide project is to ensure a clean environment in communities.
Swarts kicked off the project in Bushubuckridge where residents brought their electronic items in exchange of money.
“In the rural areas people are sitting with a whole lot of e-waste. Now, the danger is the unused refrigerators, people don’t know that these chemicals these appliances are made of are a problem and a health hazard for the environment. I then decided that we are going to embark on a project in nine provinces and start where we have rural communities and go and teach them,” says Swarts.
