The bail application of 12 suspects, who are accused of hacking to death five people in Inanda in Durban, earlier this month, is expected to take place at the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court today.
They were arrested just hours after the discovery of the five bodies that were dumped at the local sports field in the area.
The arrests led to a series of protests with community members calling for their release.
Many community members say the suspects should not be held accountable for protecting them from so-called criminal elements.
