The community of Virginia, Free State, came out in their numbers to support the family of the two-year-old child. The father was arrested last week following a complaint of suspected child neglect at a flat in Virginia.
Pictures are making rounds showing bruises on the child from her face to her lower body. Following the incident, the child was taken to hospital. It’s alleged that the child had also been raped. It’s also reported that the suspect is also facing other rape charges.
The suspect was apprehended last week Tuesday after police reacted to a complaint at a block of flats in the town.
Angry community members say they are angry after a 33-year-old father appeared briefly in the local magistrate’s court for the alleged rape and attempted murder of his baby girl.
He has abandoned his bail application.

Some community members who demonstrated outside the court earlier had this to say. ”As a citizen here in Virginia or as a pastor, we know that God loves a person but according to the act that has happened, we do not agree with what has happened. We disagree totally. We fully do not stand with this matter that has happened. So, we are really against what has happened.”
