Traditional healer Makgotso “Gogo Maweni” Mofokeng will remain in custody until her bail application next Monday.
Mofokeng appeared in the Protea Magistrates’ Court on Monday, facing a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
She was arrested on Sunday in connection with an incident in December last year, where she allegedly assaulted the complainant with a bottle.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) stated that the case had previously been provisionally closed due to difficulties in locating the complainant. However, further investigations led to Mofokeng’s arrest and court appearance.
