Minister of Higher Education Dr. Nobuhle Nkabane has encouraged the matric class of 2024 to venture into tertiary studies that will help them find jobs.
Nkabane was addressing some of KwaZulu-Natal’s top matric achievers at an awards ceremony in Durban.
The province obtained an 89.5 percent pass rate.
Nkabane expressed the importance of equipping students with the skills that are necessary for developing the country’s economy.
“As we navigate this transformation, we must equip our students with the competency required to achieve in the revolving a job market. We just want to appeal to you today that when you enroll, try to match our economic demands and skills demand so that we can produce graduates who are employable or rather choose programs that can lead you to entrepreneurial pathways.”
