The Gauteng Portfolio Committee on Education says the province’s matric achievements reflect its commitment to deliver quality education. Gauteng has secured an 88.4% pass rate, maintaining its third position nationally.
Mhlongo says they have also secured the second highest number of Bachelor passes in the country.
“Special recognition is given to Johannesburg West District, which emerged as the top 2 performing district nationally by achieving an impressive 97% pass rate, a true testament to the hard work and dedication of all involved. The Committee commends the Gauteng MEC for Education, Matome Chiloane, and his team for their exceptional efforts in ensuring that learners were well-prepared for their final exams. We expressed gratitude to parents and guardians for their dedicated support, which played a crucial role in the learners’ success.”
