Six males aged between 21 and 27 years old, were found dead in a home in Veeplaas in Gqeberha following a shooting incident last night.
A 21-year-old female was also found wounded and was hospitalised for treatment.
According to Police Spokesperson, Siphokazi Mawisa, says unknown attackers struck and killed the people in the house.
“A team of seasoned detectives from Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes unit are investigating a case of six counts of murder and attempted murder that occurred on Sunday, 12 January 2025 at Kani Street, Veeplaas. No arrest has been made. The identities of the deceased cannot be released until formal identification has been finalised. The investigation team will work tirelessly until the culprits responsible for this heinous attack are behind bars,” says Mawisa.
Meanwhile, a 39-year-old man arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Pienaar, Mpumalanga will appear in court soon.
The arrest was made last night after six people were gunned down outside a tavern at the weekend.
Six others were wounded and taken to hospitals.
Two of them succumbed to wounds taking the death toll to eight.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Jabu Ndubane, says, “The team has managed to make a breakthrough and during the suspect’s arrest, a pistol with about 13 live ammunition was confiscated and the suspect is expected to appear in court soon and the investigation by the team continues.”
