A 39-year-old man arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Pienaar, Mpumalanga will appear in court soon.
The arrest was made last night after six people were gunned down outside a tavern at the weekend.
Six others were wounded and taken to hospitals.
Two of them succumbed to wounds taking the death toll to eight.
Provincial police spokesperson Jabu Ndubane says, “The team has managed to make a break-through and during the suspect’s arrest, a pistol with about 13 live ammunition was confiscated and the suspect is expected to appear in court soon and the investigation by the team continues.”
