8 people killed in a crash on the N2 in the Eastern Cape

Eight people have been killed in a crash on the N2 in the Eastern Cape.

A total of 10 people died in three separate crashes last night, including two pedestrians.

Provincial Department of Transport Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says a head-on collision between a bakkie, transporting 12 people and a truck claimed 8 lives.

“The worst of those happened on the N2 near Phakade where 8 people died, 5 on the scene and three others while being taken to hospital. There were two others involving pedestrians, one in the East London CBD and one on the N2 near Dan’s Lodge,” says Binqose.
