Two suspects accused of killing police constable Callan Andrews are set to appear at the Gelvandale Magistrates’ Court in Gqeberha today.

The pair allegedly shot the 29-year-old officer and robbed him of his service pistol while he was attending to a complaint on Voisen Road in Gelvandale. Andrews was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The police official was rushed to the nearest hospital, where he was declared deceased as he succumbed to the bullet wound.”

“Through intelligence investigation by the hawks led to the arrest of the suspects at Gqeberha and they are due to appear before Galvandale magistrate court on 6 January 2025. The arrests are imminent as the matter is still under investigation and further details will not be divulged on the matter,” Mhlakuvana adds.
