The Limpopo Department of Education has called on the Grade 12 (matric) class of 2024 to seek emotional support as they await the release of their results.
The National Senior Certificate results will be released on January 13, with provinces expected to announce their top performers a day later.
Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya says the province aims to improve its pass rate from 79% in 2023 to 80% this year.
Lerule-Ramakhanya has advised families and friends of matriculants to help them deal with anxiety.
“I want to say to our class of 2024, hang in there, you have invested so much studying, energy, focus – everything – in writing your exams. This is just the last few days as we await the release of the results. Talk to each other, talk to your parents about your anxiety. There is no need to panic.”
