Residents living in low-lying areas have been cautioned, as wet and gloomy conditions are expected to continue in Gauteng over the next few days.
The South African Weather Services issued a yellow alert for disruptive rains and thunderstorms across the eastern part of the country.
These conditions are expected to continue until the weekend.

Motorists and residents are urged to be cautious whilst driving near streams and rivers.
SABC forecaster Joel Guy says, “Across the eastern part of the country, we have a level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms for parts of KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Limpopo where storms can cause a lot of hail and lightning; heavy downpours are expected in Gauteng and North West.”
