The case of a police officer accused of the murder of his Gauteng traffic warden girlfriend has been postponed to January 6.
The 42-year-old was not present in the Protea Magistrates Court in Soweto, where he was due to appear.
He is currently in hospital after he allegedly shot himself.
The man allegedly shot and killed 22-year-old Chesnay Keppler last week Thursday following a domestic dispute.
Eldorado Park residents staged a protest outside the court demanding justice for Keppler.
One community member says, “This perpetrator must rot in jail where he belongs, he doesn’t deserve to live with people.”
Another says, “As a man, I say we should protect our women. Not to subject them to this violence.”
