More than 100 Christmas babies born in Eastern Cape

The first Christmas baby in the Eastern Cape was born just two minutes after midnight at Madweleni Hospital in Elliotdale. So far, 104 Christmas babies have been born in the province, with 57 boys and 47 girls. 

Eastern Cape Department of Health Spokesperson Mkhululi Ndamase confirmed the birth and shared some additional details. “We can also confirm that the first baby was born at 00:02 this morning at Madweleni Hospital, while there was also a special delivery where a mother, who was born on the 25th of December herself, gave birth to twins at the regional hospital today.”
