Christmas cheer for elderly EC woman as foundation hands her a home

Christmas has come early for a 71-year-old grandmother from Lower Gcobonco Village outside Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape, after she received a house.

The house was handed over to Nophindile Joji by the Chippa Mpengesi Foundation.

Joji’s house collapsed during torrential rain last year. It took one neighbour to make a call to government and the private sector to change her life.

Joji says her wishes have been answered, “Before I could not sleep properly because I had no house but I am very excited today because there is roof over my head. It was very difficult, I have had sleepless nights. I am over the moon, I am grateful to all of you because you have changed my life, now I have a home.”
