The new police constables step onto the field to parade and receive their marching orders from the Minister of Police at the SAPS Academy in Tshwane.
Police Minister Senzo Mchunu will launch nationwide festive season operations starting in Cape Town today.
The initiative aims to ensure the safety of South Africans and visitors during the holiday period.
Mchunu will be joined by senior police management to oversee crime prevention efforts, including roadblocks and search-and-seizure operations.
As part of the programme, the Minister will attend a passing-out parade for 500 newly trained officers in Belhar. He is scheduled to continue the operations in the Eastern Cape on Sunday and KwaZulu-Natal on Monday.
The operations are part of a broader strategy to enhance public safety during the festive season.
