The Electoral Commission’s (IEC) Dr. Nomsa Masuku’s nephew will be back in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court in Johannesburg in February next year.

Thirty-year-old Ciniso Masuku is implicated in R1.2 million fraud of the Corporate Social Investment Programme of Standard Bank.

He appeared in court yesterday and was granted bail of R20 000.

The accused who handed himself to the police is charged with fraud and theft.

Ciniso is charged alongside his aunt and her co-accused Phillip Roux.

Nomsa Masuku and Roux have since appeared in court and are out on bail of R20 000 and R10 000, respectively.

Her alleged offenses were committed during her tenure as Head of Standard Bank’s Social Corporate Investments Programme, where she allegedly siphoned money and also illicitly awarded bursaries to ineligible recipients, including family members and friends.
