Some Eskom customers in Malamulele, Limpopo, say they’re unable to upload pre-paid electricity coupons despite having recorded their meter boxes.
Some are accusing Eskom workers at Malamulele offices of taking too long to help them while others say they are unable to buy pre-paid electricity, including at the official vendors.
These customers have expressed frustrations about queuing in the hot sun.
“As residents in Malamulele, we are suffering because of electricity. We have done nothing wrong and we buy electricity regularly, but when we come to do the upgrade, they send us back home and our food is getting rotten. Some of us are old, we do not even have the money to come to Eskom offices every day.”
Eskom has extended its deadline to upgrade prepaid meters to November 29.
