Former Road Accident Fund CEO Collins Letsoalo.
The Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) has taken a resolution to lay a criminal charge against former Road Accident Fund CEO, Collins Letsoalo.
Letsoalo is charged with failing to appear before the committee after summonses were issued to him in November last year.
That was when SCOPA was conducting an inquiry into the affairs of the Road Accident Fund.
The committee wanted Lestoalo to account for matters it was probing when he was at the helm of the entity.
SCOPA says the decision to criminally charge Lestoalo was taken by vote, where eight members voted in favour and three against.
SCOPA Chairperson Songezo Zibi says that Letsoalo’s failure to appear before the committee is a mockery of Parliament’s oversight role.
