Three men have been killed and three others wounded in a shooting in Lingelethu, Khayalitsha, on the Cape Flats.
The incident, which is suspected to be linked to extortion, happened on Wednesday night.
Western Cape Police Spokesperson André Traut says no arrests have been made.
Traut says, “Western Cape SAPS is investigating a triple murder and a triple attempted murder incident that occurred in Lingelethu in Khayalitsha last night. Experienced detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime unit are pursuing all available leads in an effort to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack. At the same time, additional operational forces have been deployed in the area to stabilise the situation and enhance police visibility.”
