A 22-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping two girls aged three and four years old at Mafukani outside Thohoyandou in Limpopo.

Social Development spokesperson Joshua Kwapa says the mother of one of the girls saw the man taking the children to a bush near their home.

She then followed and found him raping one of the girls. The girls were taken to the clinic where it was confirmed that they had been raped.

Kwapa says MEC Florence Radzilani has expressed concern about incidents of sexual assault on minors in the province.

“The sexual assault of minors has now reached an unacceptably high level a little less than a month ago 2 – suffer the same fate in the province it is high time now for men to stand up and not only condemn this horrendous incident but actively expose perpetrators and importantly about to protect the women and children against sexual assault and any form of attack and abuse” Radzilani commented.
