Prosecution to present closing arguments in Shebe Maburna’s case

The bail application of Limpopo musician Lehlogonolo “Shebe Maburna” Chauke, accused of attempted murder, will on Tuesday morning resume in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court.

He has been applying for bail since his arrest in November last year.

In the previous hearing, a state witness and a nurse at the Polokwane Correctional Facility, Fikile Nkosi, testified that Chauke has never been denied medical attention.

Shebe Maburna says he wants to be released on bail so he can access medical treatment.

During the testimony, the nurse testified that the musician had never made a request for medical attention while in custody.

Shebe Maburna had told the court that he needed treatment for his leg after he suffered a fracture in a car crash two years ago.

The cross-examination of the witness has been concluded.

The prosecution will present its closing arguments before the court can make a decision.
