Suspended Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Deputy Chief Umashi Dhlamini is giving evidence at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria on April 10, 2026.
Suspended Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Deputy Chief Umashi Dhlamini has described his relationship with suspended police sergeant Fannie Nkosi as brotherly.
Dhlamini is in the hot seat at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria after Nkosi implicated him in tender rigging.
He says he has known Nkosi for over 30 years.
Advocate Teboho Mosikili leads his evidence: “Can I ask you, would that relationship extend to his other siblings, including Mr Bheki Nkosi?”
Dhlamini responded: “I do engage with Fannie when they have family challenges, marriages. We do intervene with my wife to do counselling and so forth.”
Mosikili: “And this would include Bheki as well?”
Dhlamini: “Yes, that’s correct.”
