Madlanga explains why Witness F won’t testify in partial camera

Commission Chairperson Retired Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga has explained why Sergeant Fannie Nkosi, previously identified as Witness F, will no longer be testifying in a partial camera.

Sergeant Nkosi has been identified before the Commission by Crime Intelligence Head General Dumisani Khumalo through CCTV footage at the home of murder accused Katiso “KT” Molefe.

He was also identified by his legal counsel, Hartley Ngoato, in an application to conceal his name before the Commission.

Madlanga has argued that it has become farcical to continue hiding Nkosi’s identity.

“This led to numerous references to witness F in General Sibiya’s testimony. In one of those references, the general accidentally mentioned Sergeant Kosi’s name. At that point, I took the view that it had plainly become farcical to continue with the facade of hiding Sergeant Kosi’s name. Thus, I directed that Sergeant Kosi’s name should henceforth be mentioned without qualification.”
