Livestock vaccinated for Foot and Mouth.
A sixth farm in the Mossel Bay area in the Western Cape has now tested positive for Foot and Mouth disease. The farm is located just outside of the current 10 kilometre quarantine zone.
Head Of Disaster Management, Gerhard Otto, says the strict movement control of livestock remains in place.
The area has been cordoned off with several vehicle checkpoints.
Otto also says there is no official response from the South African National Defence Force regarding the request for assistance at vehicle control points.
So far more than 14 000 cattle have been vaccinated.
