President Ramaphosa extends Madlanga Commission deadline

The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry deadlines have been extended.

In a statement, the Presidency confirmed that the commission will submit a second interim report by 29 May 2026 and a final report on the completion of the inquiry, on 31 August 2026.

The initial deadline was set for 17 March 2026.

Commission chairperson Justice Mbuyiseni Madlanga requested the extension due to the number of people who are still to appear.

President Ramaphosa appointed the three-member commission last year following allegations by Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi of the infiltration of the police by criminal syndicates.
