India through to T20 World Cup final after defeating England

Defending champions India are through to the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

The co-hosts beat England by seven runs in the second semi-final in Mumbai.

India, who were put into bat, posted 253 for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs.

Opener Sanju Samson laid the foundation with 86 off 42 balls, hitting eight fours and seven sixes in the process.

England fought gallantly with Jacob Bethal at the forefront.

His 105 off 48 deliveries got his side to within reach of the highest successful run-chase in a T20 World Cup history.

But in the end, they were restricted to 246 for seven.

India will play New Zealand in the final in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
