ActionSA distances itself from Xolani Khumalo’s MMC appointment

ActionSA has distanced itself from Ekurhuleni executive mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza’s statement on the appointment of Xolani Khumalo, as Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Services and By-Law Enforcement.

Khumalo appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court recently in connection with a 2022 drug bust and the matter was postponed to Monday next week.

ActionSA says it feels disrespected that Xhakaza has co-opted Khumalo into his mayoral committee.

Xhakaza reshuffled his executive Tuesday, the swearing in ceremony is set to take place Wednesday.

ActionSA president Herman Mashaba says Xolani Khumalo will not be used for the agenda.

“On our behalf to come with statement its disrespectful and we take serous exception for us as ActionSA. Therefore Xolani is going to serve as councillor to prepare to be the Mayor. We want Xolani next year to be the mayor. He is not going to be used for the agenda we don’t understand, and we don’t want to understand.”
