Ramaphosa hails Bishop John Bolana as a voice of knowledge

President Cyril Ramaphosa has described the late fifth Bantu Church of Christ, Bishop John Bolana, as a voice of knowledge that he consulted from time to time.

He visited the bereaved Bolana family in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape to pay his respects.

Bishop Bolana died at the age of 82 last week following a short illness.

Ramaphosa says he got to know the Bishop during the COVID-19 pandemic as he was one of the leaders who participated in addressing the challenges related to the disease.

“I got to know him as a very wise leader, a leader who was calm, even within the storm of what we were going through as South Africans during the COVID period. So, I pay tribute to him, I honour him, and I respect him deeply for the contribution that he has also made to the community of Gqeberha but also to the almost three million and more members of his congregation.”
