SABC Studios in Auckland Park, Johannesburg
The Department of Communications and Digital Technologies, along with BMIT Knowledge Group Pty Ltd, is expected to update the Portfolio Committee on Communications on progress in developing a viable funding model for the SABC.
The committee meeting will be on Friday afternoon.
The private company was appointed by Minister Solly Malatsi in September last year.
Malatsi said he chose BMIT because of its proven track record in economic modeling, broadcast market analysis and regulatory policy support. He added that this is in fulfilment of his commitment to prioritise the development of a funding model for the SABC.
