Court postpones Katiso Molefe’s case to March 12

Alleged crime kingpin Katiso Molefe’s court case has been postponed to March 12, 2026, in the High Court in Johannesburg.

The aim of the postponement is to allow the State and defence to finalise pre-trial matters.

Molefe and three co-accused appeared briefly in court on Thursday morning.

They are facing 35 charges, including murder and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

Molefe is accused of orchestrating the killing of Oupa Sefoka, popularly known as DJ Sumbody, in Woodmead in November 2022.

Earlier, the state said forensic evidence linked guns used to kill DJ Sumbody to several other high-profile killings, including those of Hector Buthelezi, also known as DJ Vintos, Don Tindleni and Armand Swart.

Judge Thifhelimbilu Mudau says Molefe’s co-accused will remain in custody

“Mr Molefe, I am addressing you. Hear what I said: your bail is extended on the same terms under which you were released on bail. The rest of the accused will remain in custody.”
